ICARE is a young researcher project funded by ANR (Agence Nationale de la Recherche, Grant ANR-22-CE33-0002) focusing on human-computer interaction, education and remote collaboration. It is led by Arnaud Prouzeau, a researcher in the Potioc team from Inria Bordeaux Sud-Ouest and involves researchers from the following research teams:
- The Potioc project-team (Inria, Université de Bordeaux, CNRS) – Bordeaux, France
- The ILDA project-team (Inria, Université Paris-Saclay, CNRS) – Paris, France
- The Human-Centred Computing team (University of Queensland) – Brisbane, Australia
- The Centre for Learning Analytics (Monash University) – Melbourne, Australia
The company Practeex will also be involved and propose one of the use-cases of the project.
The project has started on the 1st of April 2023.
Abstract
In this project, we explore the use of immersive technologies for collaborative learning. First in fully virtual reality environments and then in heterogeneous ones which include different types of devices (e.g. AR/VR, wall displays, desktops), we will design interaction techniques to improve how people collaborate in practical learning activities. We will also develop measures to evaluate the impact of these techniques on how people learn and how it provides users with good social awareness.
